Dear Citizens:
On behalf of the City of Redondo Beach’s Citizen Corp’s
Council, we are pleased to present our first Community
Publication that targets Emergency Preparedness and tips on
hazardous waste prevention.
In January 2006, Mayor Mike Gin announced, at his State of
the City address, his initiative to revitalize the City of
Redondo Beach's Citizen Corp Council with the primary
mission to promote volunteerism through the President’s USA
Freedom Corps. Its purpose is to build on existing volunteer
programs in Redondo Beach, adding an element of homeland
security.
The Redondo Beach Citizen Corp’s Council brings together
leaders from many sectors of our community to promote
volunteer opportunities that prepare the community for
threats of terrorism and other emergencies that could
overwhelm local public safety, medical and health resources.
