Position SummaryThe President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce is responsible for strategic leadership, operational excellence, and advocacy to support and advance the Redondo Beach business community. The CEO champions economic development, business advocacy, and community engagement, ensuring the Chamber remains a valuable resource for its members and an advocate for the business community of Redondo Beach.
The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader, skilled communicator, and experienced executive with a track record of success in organizational leadership, economic development, political advocacy, event management, and revenue generation. This role requires strategic planning, political acumen, and hands-on stakeholder engagement as a visible presence in the community.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least five years’ experience in an organizational leadership role (corporate, nonprofit, government, or entrepreneurial sector).
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, public policy, communications, behavioral sciences or a related field or equivalent training.
- Local Resident of the South Bay.
- Proven success in managing teams, executing events, and driving revenue growth.
- Demonstrated understanding of public policy, business advocacy, and government relations in the South Bay and throughout California.
- Proven success in fostering strong customer relationships with current and prospective members, ensuring a value-driven membership experience adapted to their evolving needs.
- Proven success in developing and managing the annual budget process, ensuring financial health and long-term sustainability.
- Demonstrated public relations and communication skills to build partnerships with business owners, government officials, community leaders, local schools, economic development organizations, and non-profits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Chamber Executive (CCE), U.S. Chamber Institute for Organization Management (IOM), or Western Association of Chamber Executives (WACE) certification or ability to acquire such certification.
- Resident of Redondo Beach.
- Master’s or other advanced degree related to the position.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategic Vision
- Develop and execute a strategic vision for the Chamber aligned with its core values.
- Lead the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, staff, and volunteers to implement the Chamber’s goals and objectives.
- Provide leadership and development of Chamber staff and committees, including Ambassadors
- Act as the primary public spokesperson for the Chamber, ensuring a strong and positive presence in the Redondo Beach business community, government, and media.
- Inspire and motivate a high-performing team, cultivating a collaborative and results-driven workplace culture.
Business & Economic Development
- Advocate for business-friendly policies at our local, state, and federal levels.
- Support the business community by identifying growth opportunities, fostering entrepreneurship, and building strategic alliances in our city.
- Maintain strong relationships with elected officials, city and Los Angeles county leaders, economic development agencies, and local businesses.
- Develop programs and initiatives that support workforce and youth development, small business growth, and economic sustainability in Redondo Beach.
Membership Growth & Engagement
- Develop and implement a membership growth strategy, increasing the Chamber’s reach and impact.
- Foster strong relationships with current and prospective members, ensuring a value-driven membership experience adapted to their evolving needs.
- Oversee and create innovative networking and educational programs that engage a diverse range of business owners and executives.
Political & Government Affairs
- Be the voice of the Chamber in government relations and advocacy efforts in Redondo Beach and the South Bay.
- Monitor legislation and public policy trends, proactively shaping policy that supports business interests.
- Lead the Chamber’s Issues Political Action Committee (PAC) and advocate for pro-business initiatives.
- Develop strategies to defend and support the Chamber’s interests when challenged.
Financial & Operational Management
- Develop and manage the Chamber’s annual budget, ensuring financial health and long-term sustainability.
- Drive non-dues revenue growth through events, sponsorships, and partnerships.
- Oversee financial performance metrics, including membership retention, fundraising, and sponsorship sales.
- Lead strategic fundraising efforts and ensure financial goals align with the Chamber’s mission.
- Ensure operational efficiency and compliance with legal, financial, and governance standards.
Events, Marketing & Public Relations
- Oversee signature Chamber events, including:
- Annual Super Bowl 10K
- State of the City
- Community Awards
- Women’s Summit
- Regional Mixer & Business Mixers
- Enhance public relations and marketing efforts, increasing the Chamber’s visibility and credibility.
- Lead digital and social media engagement strategies to enhance brand awareness.
Community & Civic Engagement
