Manhattan Beach, CA (August 29, 2024) - The Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce (MBCC) and the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce are excited to announce the Inaugural South Bay Annual Women’s Summit, “Innovation to Elevation”. We will announce when online registration is open to the community. It will be held at the Shade Hotel in Redondo Beach on Thursday, November 8 from 9:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. The founder of Local Anchor, Laura Stotland, will moderate both panels.
The event will feature Keynote Speaker, Nyanza Shaw, Principal and Founder of Shaw Esquire. and two panels boasting four dynamic women from different sectors of the business world. Speakers include, Asia Zdziarska, Founder of archemy.LA, Lenora Marouani, Owner of Barsha, Julia Durham-Goehring, LA28, Government Relations Sr. Associate, Katie Kruft-Richardson, President at Katie Kruft, Inc., Maureen McBride, Owner of Tabula Rasa, Tamala Lewis, Sr. Director, Community Relations & Foundation, Dignity Health Sports Park, Paige Negrete, Founder/Owner South Bay Sprouts, and Moderator, Laura Stotland, Founder of Local Anchor.
Nyanza Shaw - Bio
Nyanza Shaw is an accomplished attorney and executive with over 25 years of experience in the creative industries. She has been instrumental in shaping numerous high-profile deals and projects, offering strategic counsel that extends beyond conventional legal frameworks. Known for her keen industry insights and unwavering commitment to client interests, Nyanza has earned a reputation as a trusted advisor.
Previously as Executive Vice President of Scripted Business and Legal Affairs for Fremantle Media, Nyanza oversaw deal making for the development, production, and financing of Fremantle's U.S. scripted series and new media content and worked with Fremantle’s international companies to develop and advise on deal structures and best practices.
As Founder & Principal Attorney of Shaw Esquire, she represents a diverse clientele in the entertainment and media industries. Her expertise includes negotiating complex contracts, protecting intellectual property rights, licensing and distribution agreements, as well as brand deals, production services, regulatory compliance, and business and operational strategies.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Nyanza is committed to service and making an impact in the community through mentorship and inspiring the next generation. She is a past President of the John M. Langston Bar Association and serves on the Western Region Board of Directors for Step Up and the Board of Directors of the Library Foundation of Los Angeles.
