Redondo Beach Chamber Economic Development Council / City Partnership
The Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce and the City of Redondo Beach work collaboratively through the Economic Development Council (EDC). This partnership was developed and formerly approved by the Redondo Beach City Council in 1992 when aerospace in the South Bay was downsized.
The City Council also adopted a consolidated economic development plan to guide the economic development program. The need to quickly embark on an aggressive economic development program was amplified by the City’s struggling aerospace dependent economy and the effects of defense downsizing and threatened base closure.
The Economic Development Council (EDC) strategy focuses on the following main goals:
· Existing business retention and expansion
· Small businesses and start up assistance the Redondo Beach region
· Provide programs that encourage locals to shop and buy local
· Help educate high school students about business opportunities
