Leadership Redondo is a 12-month exploratory program designed to connect civic, business, and community leaders with the shared goal of enhancing and strengthening Redondo Beach. Established in 2000, the program is rooted in the belief that a deeper understanding of the community’s structure and needs leads to more effective leadership and service.
Each year, a new class of participants engages in a nine-month curriculum, with monthly sessions held throughout Redondo Beach, the South Bay, and Los Angeles County. Classes take place on the second Friday of each month. Upon completing the educational component, participants collaborate on the design and implementation of a community improvement project. Leadership Redondo has been an active program of the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce since its founding. It was initiated by Marna Smeltzer, John Parsons, and Dawn Wendl, and was inspired by similar leadership The program is operated by the Redondo Beach Chamber Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (FEIN #27-2522328). |
