Redondo Beach Economic Development Council (EDC)
The Economic Development Council of the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce focuses on promoting economic growth within the Redondo Beach business community through the development and implementation of programs, small businesses support, and start up assistance resources. The EDC introduces and facilitates programs that encourage locals to shop and buy locally. The EDC also help educate high school students about business entrepreneurship by assisting them in developing a small business plan and earning a college scholarship in the process.

Future Business Leader Scholarship Program
Each year the Economic Development Council sponsors the Future Business Leader Program in conjunction with Redondo Union High School's Economics Department. The program involves high school students in:

- Developing a business plan for a new fictitious small business
- Attending a lunch & learn program at City Hall with local business owners and civic leaders
- Presenting the winning plans to a "Shark Tank" alike panel of local business owners
- Winning teams will earn college scholarships of $500-$1000 per student

Lunch N Learn Program
The EDC hosts monthly Lunch N Learn workshops on the fourth Thursday of every month at 12:00 noon.
Our goal is to share with the local business community some best practices in a variety of business-related subjects, it's a great alternative to formal training sessions. Each month we will have a different speaker and will allow for an alternative format to help attendees gain a better understanding of the subject area.
